Your English speaking driver will collect you from your hotel in Amman early morning and transfer you by an air-conditioned vehicle along the Desert Highway for approx. 3 hours to the rose red city of Petra. With your English speaking guide walk through the mile-long Siq to reach the city of Petra. Along the way pass the remains of Nabataean shrines, tombs, water channels, wall carvings and some of the original paving stones. See the magnificent Treasury as you exit the Siq, explore the Street of Facades, the Roman Theatre, Royal Tombs, Colonnaded Street, Byzantine Church, Winged Lion’s Temple, Qasr al Bint, and the Petra Museum at which time your guided tour. On your own climb to the High Place of Sacrifice of the 800+ steps to the Monastery. Make your own way back to the entrance gates to meet up with your driver for the return journey to Amman. NOTE: The tour requires considerable walking on uneven ground.
