In just 6 days explore the most famous Islamic sights in both Jordan and Jerusalem.
Following Meet & Assist at Queen Alia International Airport, you will drive down the Desert Highway directly to Petra. With your English speaking guide, walk through the 1.2km long Siq (chasm) to reach the rose-red city of Petra, passing the remains of Nabataean shrines, water channels, wall carvings and some of the original paving stones. See the magnificent Treasury as you exit the Siq, explore the Street of Facades, the Theatre, Royal Tombs, Colonnaded Street, Byzantine Church, Winged Lion’s Temple, Qasr al Bint, and the Petra Museum where your guided tour will end. Climb to the Monastery and/or High Place of Sacrifice on your own. Return to your hotel via the Siq. Overnight: Petra.
Travel the Kings’ Highway to al-Karak and the Tombs of the Martyrs of Mu’tah. The most significant and fiercest battle fought during Prophet Mohammad’s (PBUH) lifetime was the Battle of Mutah (629 AD). It took the lives of his closest companions, martyred fighting against a combined Byzantine/Ghassanid army. In the town of Al Mazar Al Janubi, close to Karak, are the tombs of the venerable companions Zaid bin Harithah, Ja’far bin Abi Talib, and Abdullah bin Ruwahah which we will visit. Descend the scenic, winding road to the Rift Valley to visit Lot’s Wife Pillar before driving beside the Dead Sea to reach the King Hussein/Allenby Bridge border crossing. Once you have cleared Immigration, cross into the Holy Lands to continue your journey to Jericho – maybe the oldest continuously occupied city in the world – before driving to Nabi Mousa and Jerusalem. Overnight: Jerusalem.
Visit the Dome of the Rock (Qubat Al-Sakhra) and Al-Aqsa Mosque (Masjed Al-Aqsa). Then to the Holy Sepulchre (Kanisat Alqiamah) and view the Wailing wall (Haet Al-Burq). From there it is a short distance to the old markets of Jerusalem (Souq al Qataneen and al Atareen). Overnight: Jerusalem
Drive to Mt. of Olives, visit Salman al farsi and Raba’a al adwiah, then travel to Bethlehem visiting the Nativity Church (Kanisat Al-Mahd) and Omar Mosque. Stop at Solomon’s Pools (Birak Suleiman) before driving to Hebron (Al- Khalil) visiting Al-Haram Al-Ibrahimi (Ibrahim +Ishaq+Yaqoub+Sara (( PBUH )) and the old city. Visit Nabi Youns before returning to Jerusalem. Overnight: Jerusalem
An early departure from Jerusalem, head back to the border crossing to re-enter Jordan. Visit Mt Nebo where Prophet Moses was allowed to glimpse the Promised Land prior to dying. Drive to Amman to visit the tomb of the venerable companion Abdul Rahman bin Auf. Continue on to the Cave of the 7 Sleepers (Ashab al Kahf) which is mentioned in a Sura in the Holy Qur’an. To finish the day, take a City Tour of Amman including a stop at the King Abdullah Mosque to pray before proceeding to your hotel. Overnight: Amman
