Hiking Dana Biosphere to Petra

Day 1: Arrival Amman (D)

You will be met and assisted at Queen Alia International Airport before being driven to Dana Village. Overnight: Dana Village

Day 2: Dana to Feynan (6-7 hour hike) (B/L/D)

With your guide, begin descending down the al-Sharah mountains via the Wadi Dana Trail to Feynan Village. By jeep, transfer to Wadi Abud Seikkaham Overnight: tents

Day 3: Wadi Abud Seikkaham to Wadi Al Feib (B/L/D)

Following your guide, climb Negib Schtaid to the top of Wadi Al Feib. The valley you follow has beautiful and colorful rock formations. Lunch will be beside a waterfall – you may swim if you like. Camp will be at the top of the mountain. Overnight: tents

Day 4: Ras al Feib to Boor al Luheydat (B/L/D)

Traverse the side of the mountain with great views of Wadi Araba below. Stop at the Nabataean ruins at Coutler. A short distance ahead is a great view of Jebel Haroun (Aaron’s Mountain). Continue to Boor Al Luheydat (tombs). Overnight: tents

Day 5: Boor al Luheydat to Little Petra (B/L/D)

Arrive to Little Petra for lunch before taking the “back road” to reach the Monastery, hidden on Jebel ad-Dier. Take time to look at this magnificent building, carved from the mountainside, before descending into the main city of Petra. Spend the rest of the day discovering the ruins of temples, royal tombs, a Roman Theatre and, of course, the Treasury. Walk through the mile-long Siq (chasm), pass tombs, shrines, water channels and original paving stones before arriving at the main entrance gates. Overnight: Petra Hotel 3*

Day 6: Transfer to Amman for departure flight (B)

After breakfast, transfer direct to Queen Alia International Airport for your departure flight.
