Pella witnessed a determining battle between Christian Romans and Muslims. Finally, we visit the Shrine of the Lady of the Mountain at the Roman Catholic Church in Anjara. The church was built to commemorate an overnight stay by Jesus, his disciples and the Virgin Mary during a journey from Jerusalem to Galilee in a cave nearby. Return to Amman Overnight: Amman

At the conclusion of the tour, continue exploring this large city before returning to the entrance gates to meet your driver. Drive to Amman for a tour of the downtown area and stop at The Citadel. Situated on the highest of the 7 hills of Amman, this is the site of the oldest civilization in the city. See the Umayyad Palace and Reception Hall, Temple of Hercules and Archaeological Museum. Close by is Madaba, famous for the mosaic map in the 6th Century St George Church which shows all major biblical sites from Lebanon to Egypt, especially Jerusalem and the Holy Land. Continue along the Kings' Highway, passing through Wadi Mujib to reach Karak. Stop to explore the famous Crusader castle built in 1132/34 by King Baldwin I. of Jerusalem. Drive to Petra. Overnight.

The rest of the day is free-time to continue exploring the city. Climb to the Monastery and/or High Place of Sacrifice. Overnight Petra During the Exodus, Moses and the Israelites passed through the Petra area in Edom. Local tradition says that the spring at Wadi Musa (Valley of Moses), just outside Petra, is the place where Moses struck the rock and brought forth water. Aaron, brother of Moses and Miriam, is buried in Petra at JabalHarun (Mt. Aaron). From a distance you can see the shrine/tomb of Aaron on the summit of the mountain. Pilgrims from all over the world make the 3.5 hour climb.
Day 6: Petra - Lot's cave - Lot's Wife Pillar - Dead Sea
After breakfast we head to the Dead Sea. Descend into the Rift Valley and drive beside the Dead Sea to reach your hotel on the northern foreshore. From the top of this mountain it is possible to see Herod's two other mountain-top palaces, Herodium near Bethlehem and Alexandrian near Jericho. Umm al Rasas is mentioned in both the Old and New Testaments of the Bible.
